A Bird's Eye View

Maryville Aged Care Hostel, in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, has established the country's first bird watchers' club in an aged care facility, in conjunction with the Bird Observers Club of Australia.

 
Abbotsford Hostel

The Abbotsford Hostel is located on the first floor, 2 Clarke Street Abbotsford complex and accommodates thirty-five permanent residents.

 Location of Abbotsford Hostel

Hostel residents all have single room with shared en suite or communal bathroom/toilet facilities. On admission, residents are encouraged to add some personal possessions to their room. Provided that resident, staff or visitor safety is not compromised some items or furniture may also be included. This can be coordinated with the Hostel Supervisor at the time of admission.

The Abbotsford Hostel has been accredited by The Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency Ltd, in accordance with the Accreditation Grant Principles 1999.

The Abbotsford Hostel has been nationally recognized with the awarding of two Better Practice Awards by the Aged Care Standard and Accreditation Agency
