A Bird's Eye View

Maryville Aged Care Hostel, in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, has established the country's first bird watchers' club in an aged care facility, in conjunction with the Bird Observers Club of Australia.

What if I have a period of absence?

Resident fees continue to be payable during periods a resident is absent from the facility.  This  is based on the premise that the facility has minimal reduction in costs due to the absence of one resident.

A resident may take unlimited days hospital leave, however after 28 days a facility reassessment will need to take place.

A resident may take up to 52 days social leave in a financial year.  Beyond this period the Government ceases to pay Care Subsidies.  It should be noted that in instances of extended leave beyond the 52 days, the facility is entitled to recover lost fees from the resident.

For enquiries regarding fees, to discuss your options further or gain more information, please do not hesitate to contact Resident Administration
