Healthy, well-thy and wise

A carefully researched and evaluated health and wellness program can lift the spirits of residents and staff alike, writes Dean Gemmill.

A Bird's Eye View

Maryville Aged Care Hostel, in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, has established the country's first bird watchers' club in an aged care facility, in conjunction with the Bird Observers Club of Australia.

What are visiting hours?

Family and friends are very important people and are an integral part of the supportive and caring process within Good Shepherd Aged Services. Family and friends are encouraged to visit at any reasonable time during the day or evening and are encouraged to play an active role in the day-to-day functioning of the organization. Assistance is warmly received with activities, outings, transport and one to one interactions with residents.

We ask that all visitors to the facility sign-in and out at Reception.

Family and friends are free to utilise the tea and coffee making facilities at any time.
