ROLE
To enhance outcomes for residents by involving and actively providing relatives and friends with a communication avenue that reflects collaborative approaches to resident centered care.This will facilitate the facility to achieve best possible health outcomes and wellness for all residents by ensuring quality of care, whilst maintaining and constantly improving collaboration through dissemination of information between all stakeholders. This will assist to further facilitate ongoing collaborative relations between staff, relatives and friends.
Terms of Reference
- To communicate information regarding overall resident population needs and status from the ‘grass roots’ level in an ‘as it happens’ time frame.
- To support staff in the provision of services and emotional support to residents.
- To reflect, identify, and communicate changes in the care environment in a timely manner.
- To provide responsive quality interventions in response to identified changes so that optimal resident outcomes are achieved.

To provide a consistent approach to communication avenues to all relatives and friends.
- To advise on the organisational Strategic Plan goals and evaluation with the primary purpose being health and wellness of residents, and upholding the Good Shepherd spirit.

To identify areas for improvement and identify areas where the facility is performing well
- To assist in the procurement of capital items that will enhance resident care and assist in achieving set key performance indicators.

Meeting schedule notification placed in Spreading the Word Newsletter, and notice of meeting placed at reception foyer at both Boronia and Abbotsford.
